When the built-in wall skimmer is broken or not working right, a lily pad skimmer (no-niche floating style) is a solid replacement. It sits on the surface and pulls debris from all directions without needing a cut into the pool wall. That keeps leaves and junk out of the water and helps the filter do its job.
